100 Years Later: New York City

For the last five episodes of the 10-day countdown to my book release, I focused on New York City. My Great-Grandfather Levi did not spend much time here, as the city was simply his launching point for the start of his eight-month self-study of religious architecture across Europe and North Africa.

Back in 1925, Levi was in the biggest city in the world about to board the biggest ship in the world – the Leviathan. 100 Years later, I was visiting for a family friend’s wedding and took the opportunity to recreate some of his photographs and experience what New York City had to offer.

We were only in the city for a few days, but we crammed as much as we could into our relatively short trip. In addition to recreating Levi’s photos, we walked the length of Central Park, went to a show on Broadway, and explored MoMA (the Museum of Modern Art).

Here is a compilation of the last five episodes of Season 2 for the 100 Years Later series:

Not only does this mark the end of the series, but it also means that my poetry collection “Sincerely” is only hours from going live on Amazon. At the time you are reading this, the book may already be available!

This process has been an incredible journey in not just getting my first book published, but in growing an audience around something I am incredibly passionate about. Not only do I love the art I created, but getting to share my Great-Grandfather’s story with so many others has been a light in my life I didn’t expect to see at the start of this year. Thank you to everyone who has supported the series thus far, and I cannot wait to get started on my next big project!
